SGX Singapore : STI Technical Analysis Outlook 15th Dec

Market Review for STI:
Share opened lower with the Straits Times Index down 16.7 points to 3,307.43. The unemployment rate in Singapore rose unexpectedly in the last quarter. Singapore Ministry of Manpower said that Singaporean Unemployment Rate rose to 2.0%, from 1.9% in the preceding quarter. It’s affected the Singapore stock market.

Market forecast for STI:
Oil prices fell more than two per cent to 5 1/2-year lows early, on concerns about supply glut and slower global growth, feeding fears. It will take time to regain the buying pressure in the market and the bearish rally may continue in the next trading session.

Important Factor for today:-
  • Singapore's non-oil domestic exports probably grew in November from a year earlier, when sales of pharmaceuticals were poor, with the comparison against a low base helping shipments recover from October's contraction.
  • The SGX issued a warning to investors on Monday to trade with caution Tritech Group's shares after it had queried the company for irregular trading.
  • Singapore mainboard and Philippine Stock Exchange dual-listed Del Monte Pacific Limited (DMPL) posted a Q2 net profit of US$185,000 on Monday, down from its US$8.9 million profit a year ago.
  • Singapore blue chip constituent Keppel Corp sank to a three-year low on Monday morning
  • Mainboard-listed Swiber Holdings has made its first foray into the offshore oil and gas market in West Africa by securing an award from a Houston-based oil and gas company to provide engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) services for an offshore field development project.
  • Singapore retail sales, seasonally adjusted, fell 1.3 per cent in October over the previous month on lower sales of cars and other vehicles.
  • XMH Holdings, a diesel engine provider for the marine and industrial sectors, has posted net profit of S$711,000 for the second quarter ended Oct 31, 2014, down 64.9 per cent for the same year-ago period.
  • The chairman of M1 ,Teo Soon Hoe, passed away after serving on its board for nearly two decades.
